| the break down Condensed version, Jack's world is basically an alternate to our own but set in the future. Throughout all of time, there's been a power struggle between two species who have existed together from the beginning of time: humans and those who can shift into monsters. They are naturally born with this ability and for the longest time they used their abilities for evil since they have been stronger than the humans for most of history. There have been times of peace and there have been times when one species has had the upper hand over the other. Right now, they are in the midst of a very devastating and impacting war between one another; prejudice and slavery has put the shifters in a lower class of society and this is their result to revolting against human kind who has used technology against them; shifters are required by law to wear a collar that prevents them from shifting. Those who are highly against the opposite side are considered hostiles while those who strive for peace and equality are called neutrals. Sometimes humans side with the shifters and vice versa, a shifter may want to side with whoever is winning the war at the time to assure freedom and rights because of their loyalty. There are official wars all around the world for this kind of freedom, and then rioting among civilians. Jack was apart of an underground alliance against the humans for the longest time. Technology has gotten to the point where humans have been building an army of born humans who can use and harness the powers of the shifters to fight against them. The war has caused a lot of damage on the planet so soon they will have to all relocate to another planet to survive within the next 100 years... it's rough. As mentioned, Jack was once a hostile fighting to be more dominate than the human race until his alliance split off, rendering him without any part in the war. He's been in jail or arrested numerous times in the past for things like drug usage and assault to smaller things like public nudity and even more minor things such as removing his collar out of rebellion. Those who know him have been beckoning to come back from exclusion, but he's reluctant and is only trying to worry about himself right now. history S O O N. | |
personality Jack used to be a gentleman kind of individual with well behaved manners and a general respect for people. He was introverted in his ways and had a hard time communicating with people but was able to discover that through the art of acting and stage performance that he could really bring out his animated self. He was kind-hearted, romantic and soft spoken, and, well, all of this went down the drain once he got older and influenced. Jack discovered his passion for entertainment in high school and performed in many school plays. He was, and still is, highly intelligent, but found himself sheltered and alone. He hardly had any friendships outside of his stage crew and a few classmates. After high school, he began to creep out of his shell more and more, but never pursued any college endeavors. After his change, however, (see: history)— his personality turned a 180. Jack became an extrovert; the life of the party. He was devoured by greed, and self indulging pleasures. He was finally getting of taste of everything he had missed. Everything was all about him and nothing else. He was reborn into what he is today— which is trash. Literal trash. No, I kid. But— Jack is now conceited and pushes himself to be happy with a smiling facade; wanting nothing more than making himself happy, but not precisely knowing how since he doesn't really know what he really wants. He's pretty skeevy when it comes to people and loves doing things for shock factor or getting a reaction. This amuses him to no end, and he will blatantly lie to people, no matter who they are, to simply get a kick out of their response. He doesn't really have any sort of filter and "doesn't really giva fuck", as he would say, about his language or sense of humor— which is rather distasteful and crude. Jack is very flirtatious with anyone and anything, and is kind of an asshole at first if he doesn't know them. He's been known to lead people on and not really mean any kind words he says to them if he doesn't care about them. You could say he enjoys trolling. A lot. Jack is overly concerned with his appearance even if he doesn't shave or take good care of himself, and will wear anything that will grab attention or be flashy.. or sometimes no clothes at all if the occasion calls for it on days he's feeling particularly Extra. He's easily addicted to things, searching far and trying hard to find something that can fill up the gap in his soul that his old life took away. He's an alcoholic, and has a particular addiction to certain drugs, mainly those that are taken digitally through a cartridge injection, which is highly illegal in his world. He's boisterous, adventurous, and free spirited, willing to try everything once, and willing to attend any party he is invited to— especially if he can find somebody he can easily manipulate. Despite all of these negatives, Jack still has a respect for consent, and women in general, even though he is overly flirtatious with them. He still holds the door open for people, and pours his heart out to those people who are broke or needy. If you're a true friend of his, he will die for you. His loyalty is almost infinite. If somebody picks a fight with him or somebody he cares about, Jack won't hesitant to beat the shit out of people and not caring who or what they are. Even though Jack self-loathes himself for his awful habits and the fact he easily gets lonely or needy, he considers his rebirth a blessing, and is happy he is no longer a quiet, reserved individual in the long run. | |
abilities Being a shifter in his world is something that people are born as and with technology advancing, people are able to give themselves shifting abilities. Those who can shift into their monster can do it at will and gain access to their full potential. Small abilities still linger when they are in this human form. Here's what Jack is able to do in his human form and his creature form: » NIGHT VISION: He can see in the dark. » ACUTE HEARING: He's got big ears, so of course he can hear things better. » SHIFTING: He can change whenever he wants to with no problem. The only affects he feels after transforming back is fatigue and hunger. Here are the powers he has when he is shifted: » FLIGHT: Jack's got big ole wings so he can fly. He's pretty big, too, so he could carry somebody around on his back. » FIRE BREATHING: It takes him a moment, but he can shoot balls of fire from his mouth and smoke from his nostrils. » TELEPATHY / EMPATHY: His only way of communicating with somebody is by speaking into their minds. If your character talks to him, they will only hear his voice in their head. He can also read thoughts and emotions unless somebody guards them really well. Sometimes after scanning their brain, depending on the person, he'll come back with no information (to his dismay.. he loves messing with folks.) Jack uses his third eye to read minds and emotions. | |
