GLOSSARY
▶ The Evolution: An unexplained and still researched phenomenon that is responsible for the enhanced, natural evolution of humans surpassed mankind, resulting in the new species, Shifters. (Spoiler: it's probably aliens.)
▶ Shifters: Humanoids that can shift into an alternate form; a monster. Sometimes their abilities improve on their own or change, but no matter what, they are mutants that are a lot stronger than humans.
▶ Hostiles: Anyone who aggressive against the other species. They are usual participants of war or riots in order to try and sustain power over the other.
▶ Neutrals: Those who seek peace between both species and who want to live a life in coexisting.
▶ Endeavor: The extremest faction that Jack was a leader of. They did a lot of nasty things but for the sake of equality. Right now, they are partially disbanded as Jack has retired in attempt to live his life as normally as possible.
▶ Technologic Revolution: A period of time where there were many breakthroughs in technology. New tech was becoming obsolete after only being available to the public for a few weeks. Some argue they are still experiencing this, but the biggest breakthroughs and advancement began in the early 2000's.
▶ Cybertech: The large corporation in cahoots with governments around the world responsible for all sorts of technology, but also the company responsible for the barriers Shifters are mandated to use.
▶ Lucid: While most drugs are legal in this world, there is an especially dangerous one called Lucid that is still illegal. Lucid is highly addictive and is typically shot into the veins via it's own contraption that goes on a person's wrist. It allows people to enter an astral projected realm where anything can happen. A group of people on Lucid can interact with one another in this realm, almost like dreamwalking. Plenty of dangerous games and gambles have revolved around Lucid, but it can be extremely dangerous to a person's physical body, providing them in memory loss, brain hemorrhaging, heart attacks and loss of vision.
▶ Kryptos: The universal currency. Physical money is basically nonexistent at this point.
▶ Relic: A term used by characters in this world to reference things that are dated; customs and things prior to the Technologic Revolution.

WORLD
Condensed version, Jack's world is basically an alternate to our own but set in the future in the year 2177. It is extremely polarized and governments around the world have been more inhumane than ever. Humanity existed first, but around 300 years ago, an unexplained and still researched phenomenon called The Evolution has introduced a new species on Earth. People who were once human noticed changes in their bodies that gave them a variety of different abilities, but the most obvious and dangerous feature was the ability to shift at will. These people are called Shifters (I'm so creative, right?) and have an alternate form which can consist of all different kinds of monsters and/or monster traits. Naturally, they are a lot stronger than mankind.
Throughout all of time since then, there's been a power struggle between two species: humans and those who can shift into monsters that are constantly evolving. There have been times of peace and there have been times when one species has had the upper hand over the other. Even when there are no wars and no fighting, there has hardly ever been any points of time where there wasn't any tension.
Right now, they are in the midst of a very devastating and impacting war between one another; prejudice and mistreatment has put the Shifters in a lower class of society and this is their result to revolting against human kind who now have used technology against them; Shifters are required by law to wear a collar or another form of technology which is a barrier that prevents them from shifting. Those who are highly against the opposite side are considered Hostiles while those who strive for peace and equality are called Neutrals. Sometimes humans side with the Shifters and vice versa, a Shifter may want to side with whoever is winning the war at the time to assure freedom and rights because of their loyalty. There are official wars all around the world for this kind of freedom and then rioting among civilians. Because of this, there has been a lot of destruction done to the planet, resulting in the extinction of entire countries. Basically, the whole world is falling apart. The war has caused a lot of damage on the planet so soon they will have to all relocate to another planet to survive within the next 100 years... it's rough. Jack was the leader of an underground alliance against the humans for the longest time.
